在風中飄蕩 (Blowin'in the Wind)是美國民歌史上最重要的作品之一，原作者是被公認為民歌一代宗師的 Bob Dylan
這首歌寫於1964年，這也是被稱為“美國民謠搖滾之父”的他所有創作歌曲中最優秀、最出名的一首。
1957年越戰爆發，美國把大量的人力、物力投向越南戰場，結果造成了慘重的傷亡。於是美國社會內部掀起了一股反戰熱潮。
與此同時，民歌也在全美各地校園流行起來，許多年青人利用創作民歌表達人民的呼聲。這首歌因為迎合了當時的社會思潮，因而迅速風靡全世界。

作者簡介
這首歌的作者鮑勃.迪倫(Bob Dylan)，1941年出生於美國明尼蘇達州的一個有猶太血統的家庭。他自幼喜愛音樂，60年代初，他從明尼蘇達大學輟學來到紐約開始了他的歌唱生涯。
1964年，他以一曲《Blowing in the Wind》走紅流行歌壇（儘管 Bob Dylan的創作內涵受到了肯定，他的歌喉卻實在不討喜，因此他早期的好些作品都是藉由其他藝人的歌聲才成名的，如：“Peter, Paul & Mary”），漸漸成為民謠樂壇上的重要人物。
60年代中後期，他的樂風突然發生了重大變化，從此他的歌曲不再被稱為民謠而成了“民謠搖滾”（但民謠搖滾的鼎盛期十分的短暫，1965年之後由於其商業味道漸濃而令大眾失去了興趣。）。
鮑勃.迪倫所寫的歌曲旋律簡潔優美、歌詞質樸而富有哲理，充分表達了他對社會的看法和對政治的見解，因而被人們譽為“出色的詩人、尖刻的社會評論家、反主流文化的勇敢旗手”。
搖滾樂這種令年輕人狂熱的音樂形式在鮑勃.迪倫的手裡增加了表現宗教、死亡、愛情、政治等問題的內涵。他的作品使人們意識到搖滾樂和詩歌、小說一樣是直率的、個性的、有生命力的。
