鍾宏,男,1961年3月出生,浙江龍泉人,畲族,博士,教授,博士生導師,享受國務院政府特殊津貼專家,中南大學千人計畫首席專家。現任中南大學化學化工學院院長、化工冶金研究所所長,中南大學礦冶工程化學國家級虛擬仿真實驗教學中心主任,錳資源高效清潔利用湖南省重點實驗室主任。兼任中國化學會理事、中國有色金屬學會理事、湖南省化學化工學會副理事長、湖南省石油學會常務理事、湖南省有色金屬學會理事、全國電解錳創新聯盟副理事長,《過程工程學報》、《化工進展》、《精細化工中間體》雜誌編委,曾任湖南省政協委員、中國有色金屬學會理事兼青年工作委員會主任、長沙市科協常委等職務。

在科學研究方面,近五年來承擔國家863計畫、國家973計畫專題、國家自然科學基金、軍工民口配套項目以及企業合作等項目30餘項,獲省部級以上科技獎5項,其中國家技術發明二等獎1項,省部級一等獎1、二等獎2項;申請國家發明專利50餘項,授權35項,發表學術論文200餘篇,其中SCI、EI檢索100餘篇。在選礦與冶金藥劑的分子設計、綠色合成以及高效分離技術方面已形成有特色的研究體系。"硫化礦新型高效捕收劑的合成技術與浮選套用"已實現產業化並獲國家技術發明二等獎,合作指導的劉廣義博士論文"硫化銅礦石的綜合利用及新型捕收劑研究"獲2007年全國優秀博士論文。曾先後赴美國新澤西州ULTRA ADDITIVES 公司、蒙古ERDENET銅礦、智利SGS公司開展國際科研合作,研究成果在江西銅業、雲南銅業等廠礦企業實現產業化和工業套用,年創經濟效益達3億多元。
在教學工作方面,擔任著本科生、碩士研究生和博士研究生等各層次的"化工前沿問題"、"精細化工導論"、"現代化工進展"以及"化工學科研究前沿"等課程教學,指導碩士研究生75名、博士研究生15名。指導大學生創新創業項目和研究生創新工程項目11項,獲湖南省高等教育成果二等獎1項、中南大學高等教育校級教學成果一等獎和二等獎各1項。相繼獲湖南省石油化工優秀工程師、湖南省石油學會先進個人、湘西自治州科技興州先進個人、寶鋼優秀教師獎、中南大學優秀共產黨員、中南大學師德先進個人等榮譽。
