人物經歷
章慧教授1982年1月廈門大學化學系本科畢業留校工作，後獲得在職碩士學位（導師徐志固教授）。1996年9月由國家教委公派，獲英國文化委員會研究獎助金資助赴英國留學訪問研究一年（師從英國液晶學會秘書長D. W. Bruce教授，現為英國液晶學會主席）。主要從事無機化學和配位化學的教學與科研工作，近年來主要從事手性化合物的拆分和立體選擇性合成、立體化學、不對稱催化、鏡面對稱性破缺和圓二色（CD）光譜的研究工作。主講廈大化學系碩士研究生和本科高年級學生的配位化學、中級無機化學、綜合化學實驗等專業學位或主幹課的理論和實驗課程。因教學工作和教書育人成績突出，曾十一次獲獎。
現為中國空間學會生命起源與進化專業委員會委員、廈門大學化學化工學院儀器分析中心副主任、還是首屆中國化學會“分子手性學術研討會”的主要發起人之一。自2006年以來，曾17次受邀到香港和大陸重點高校和中科院研究所做學術報告以及傳授CD光譜實驗技術。
作為課題負責人先後主持三項國家自然科學基金項目（2002-2004、2008-2010和2010-2012），主持並完成福建省科技重大專項前期研究項目（2006-2007）和省自然科學基金重點項目（2000-2003）各一項，同時還是教育部首批高等學校骨幹教師資助計畫的資助對象。
近六年來在“Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.”、“Chem. Eur. J.”、“Chem. Comm.”、“Dalton Trans.”、“Inorg. Chem.”、“New J. Chem.”、“Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys.”、“Tetrahedron: Asymmetry”、“中國科學”和“物理化學學報”等國內外SCI期刊發表論文40餘篇，獨立編著或參與編寫學術專著和教材6部，其中，獨立編著的研究生教材《配位化學—原理與套用》2009年1月由化學工業出版社出版，2010年6月第二次印刷。作為第一完成人獲得2010年中國分析測試協會科學技術獎（CAIA）三等獎。
研究方向
手性化合物的合成、拆分、結構及其立體化學和套用; 手性化合物的溶液和固體CD光譜; 鏡面對稱性破缺（Mirror Symmetry Breaking）—發現、表征及其套用。
