地理位置
位於海淀區學院路地區，地處北京著名的“八大學院”文化區域，東臨八達嶺公路，西靠石油勘探院，南鄰北京科技大學，北接中國農業大學。本校位於石油大院（地理位置：東經116 °21′28.38″；北緯39°59′38.18″），分校位於志新小區（地理位置：東經116 °21′41.28″；北緯39°59′15.28″）。
歷史沿革
始建於1957年。初建之時，由北京石油學院承辦。1968年劃屬東升人民公社管理。1979年歸屬海淀區教育局領導。現今隸屬海淀區教育委員會管轄，分屬海淀區東升中心學區負責範圍。
學校於2004年，經海淀區教育委員會布局調整，由北京石油學院附屬國小和海淀區志新第二國小合併，校名沿用現名。學校現有教職員工150人，學生2500餘人。校址地分兩處，占地16974平方米，建築面積13331平方米，教學設施齊全，辦公系統完備。
學校發展
2007年，學校領導班子進行調整，吳謹同志任學校校長，擔任法人代表；東升中心學區黨總支書記、校長常有盛同志兼任學校黨支部書記。

——學校注重人文管理，隊伍建設完善。學校著力抓班子建設，促制度化落實；抓教師培養，促專業化發展；抓團隊凝聚，促人文化管理。領導班子現有10人，另有後備幹部2人，綜合素質全面，專業技能突出；肯於顧全大局，協調配合；善於獨當一面，盡職盡責；工作效果好，民眾認可高。
學校擁有一支敬業愛崗、年富力強，學歷有高度、專業有優勢的教師隊伍。學校具有本科學歷和本科在讀的教師占專任教師的94.5%，海淀區學科帶頭人8人，海淀區骨幹教師13人，東升學區學科帶頭人9人，各級骨幹教師占專任教師的25%。
學校近年先後派出百餘人次，赴香港、深圳、山東、浙江、廣州等地考察學習，同時派出6人赴加拿大、新加坡、澳大利亞進行專項培訓。2007年海淀區“世紀杯”教學競賽中，學校11人被推薦代表東升學區參賽，受到好評。學校先後開展“做學生喜愛的教師，當素質教育的先鋒”等教育活動，教師群體團結向上，學校局面穩定和諧。

2005年，海淀區教研室抽測我校六年級1 班數學，48名同學全部滿分；2007年海淀區教委抽測全區五年級語文、數學、英語，我校成績優異，三科優秀率全部超過全區的平均水平，其中部分指標超過平均分近20分。
學校設立的《課堂教學策略與教學行為發展的研究》等課題，被列為海淀區“十一五”重點課題。同時，學校致力於英語校本課程的開發。學生聽說領先，讀寫超前，贏得了陳琳教授等專家的高度認可。英語教研組在2007年全國英語年會上作經驗介紹。今年舉行的首屆英語節，集中展示了英語教學的豐碩成果。
學校為學生搭設才藝展示的舞台，每年舉辦藝術節、體育節、科技月，開設了葉畫、船模、單片機、十字繡、採珠串編、創意拼貼等50多個興趣小組，管樂團、合唱團、舞蹈團，參加海淀區比賽均榮獲到一等獎。朗誦隊多次承擔市、區大型會議獻辭，並圓滿完成任務。
近三年，北京石油附小被評為全國英語教研示範校、北京市文明禮儀示範校、海淀區教學管理先進校、海淀區德育管理先進校、海淀區課程改革先進校、海淀區科技先進校、海淀區藝術先進校、海淀區校園文化先進校，以優異成績通過了海淀區素質教育優質校評比。在北京晨報與新浪教育頻道聯合主辦的“2006北京優秀教育機構教育年度評選活動”中，學校被評為“家長最放心的校園安全國小”、“北京具有影響力的國小”、“市民滿意度最高的國小”。
Brief Introduction
The Affiliated Primary School of Beijing Petroleum College (APSBPC) is located in XueyuanRoad in Haidian District and is embraced by eight famous universities and colleges. In its neighborhood, the Badaling Highway lies in the east; the Petroleum Exploration Academy is in the west; the University of Science and Technology Beijing lies in the south; and the China Agricultural University exists in the north. The main campus is located at No.20 Xueyuan Road in Haidian District (with the geographic location of Longitude(E) 116 °21′28.38″and Latitude(N) 39°59′38.18″); the branch campus is located at No. 25, Zhixin Road (with the geographic location of Longitude(E) 116 °21′41.28″and Latitude(N) 39°59′15.28″).
In 1957, the school was first built under the Beijing Petroleum College. In 1968, it was under the administration of Dong Sheng People’s Commune. In 1979, the school was managed by the Education Bureau of Haidian District. Now, it is under the administration of the Education Committee of Haidian District, and belongs to the Dong Sheng central education area.
After adjustment by the Education Committee of Haidian District in 2004, the school was formed by the combination of the Petroleum Primary School affiliated to Beijing Petroleum College and the Second Zhixin Primary school of Haidian District without changing the name. By now, there are altogether 150 teachers and other staff, and more than 2500 students. There are two campuses, with total area of 16974 square meters, and the building area of 13331 square meters. There are all kinds of teaching facilities and there is a mature office system.
In 2007, the leadership team got adjusted and Comrade Wu Jin has become the principal of the school, who is also the legal representative; Chang Yousheng, principal and Party’s Secretary General of the Dong Sheng Central Education Area, has become the Secretary General of the school’s Party Branch.

The school has a powerful and highly-educated teaching team with great professional advantages. The teachers love their work very much and are all in the prime of the life. 94.5% of the teachers have a bachelor's degree or is finishing their bachelor’s degree; eight teachers are academic leaders of Haidian District; thirteen are backbone teachers of Haidian District; nine are academic leaders of Dong Sheng educational area, backbone teachers at all levels amounts to 25% of all the full-time teachers.
In recent years, the school has altogether send out more than 100 people to Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Shandong, Zhejiang, Guangzhou for visiting and learning. At the mean time, it has sent out 6 people for specialized training to Canada, Singapore and Australia. In 2007, 11 people have been recommended to participate the Haidian “Century Cup” Mathematics Contest on behalf of Dong Sheng Education Area and have got high appreciation. The school has carried out many campaigns such as “To be a teacher the students love and to be the pioneer of quality education”. During the mathematics examination organized by the teaching and research office of Haidian District in 2005, Class one, Grade six of our school had done a good job with all the 48 students gaining the full mark; during examinations of Chinese, mathematics and English organized by the Education Committee of Haidian District, our school performed very well, the excellent rates of the three examinations had all gone beyond the average level, and some even exceeded with more than 20 points.
Projects such as Research on the strategy of classroom teaching and the development of teaching activities have been accepted as main projects of Haidian District during the 11th five-year period. Meanwhile, the school has dedicated itself to the development of self-oriented English course. The students are taking a leading position with regard to listening, speaking, reading and writing, and have been highly praised by experts such as Professor Chen Lin. The English teaching and research group has been invited to introduce their experience at the Annual National English Conference 2007. During the first English Festival, which was held in 2007, our school intensively show to the audience about our fruitful English teaching achievements.
The school has offered a platform for the students to show their talent. Each year, the school will organize the Arts Festival, the S&T Month and the Physical Festival; there are also more than 50 interest clubs such as leaf painting, ship model, cross stitch, single chip; Moreover, our school’s wind band, glee club and dancing club have all won the first during contests of Haidian District. The recitation team had undertaken many times the task of dedication for large events of the city or the district.
During the recent three years, Beijing Petroleum Primary School has been entitled the national demonstration school of English teaching and research, Beijing demonstration school of politeness, advanced school of teaching management of Haidian District, advanced school of arts of Haidian District, advanced school of campus culture of Haidian District, and has passed the comparative appraisal of excellent school of quality education in Haidian District. During the “selection of annual excellent teaching institute in Beijing 2006” together held by Beijing Morning Post and Sina education channel, our school has been entitled with the “primary school with most safe campus in parents eyes”, the “most influencing primary school in Beijing” and the “primary school with which the citizens are most satisfied”.
