劇情簡介
《平靜的湖》劇照一一個美麗的古生物學家(布里姬芳達飾演)聽到緬因州的一個古湖，發生了一起神秘死亡事件--死者死的奇慘無比，而且死者身上留有奇大無比的動物齒印。所以她特地從紐約趕到這個古湖調查起神秘死亡事件。當她到達這個古湖調查時，又陸續發生幾起神秘死亡事件。這些死者身上都留有巨大的動物齒印，因此古生物學家一口咬定，在平靜的湖水下，一定有一定有一隻巨大的"怪物"，只是她自己也無法確定那是什麼樣的生物，或是有多大。她的說詞引發一連串的熱烈討論，此時平靜的湖水又掀起了遊客被拖入水中的事件，於是古湖的保育員(比爾普曼飾演)，和驍勇善戰的警長，以及一個野生動物專家，一起組織起來，聯合調查這些神秘死亡的背後原因，他們希望能找出個可能非常巨大的怪物。就在他們潛入水底時，他們發現了一隻無比巨大的史前大鱷魚。突然這隻史前的大鱷魚開始肆無忌憚地大開殺戒，搞得人人自危……
