《基本設計:智性理性和感性的孕育》是美國愛荷華大學榮譽退休教授胡宏述總結從事近40年設計教育的經驗編著而成的。書中的主要構成是從26個設計論點發展出28個習作,通過很多習作,引導學生學習一些基本設計概念,一步一步學習設計方面的最基本問題,從一個新的角度去了解幾何上的一些關係。

作者簡介

Hu Hung-shu (b. 1935, Shanghai, China) studied architecture at Cheng-kung University,and afterwards taught basic design at Chung Yuan Christian and Tung Hai 1966 he graduated from the Cranbrook Academy of Art (Michigan) with a MFA degree in design. From 1968 he was Head of the Design Department at the University of Iowa until his retirement in 2003 as emeritus professor. His works have been published in l.D. (America),M.D. (Germany), A.R. (England), J.A. (Japan)and Magenta Review (Mexico), among others. He was one of the winners of theProgressive Architecture‘s First International Conceptual Furniture Competition. He had a one-man exhibition of his 3D works in Taipei Fine Art Museum that included a published catalogue entitled “The Aesthetics of Reasoning: Form in the Eyes of Hu Hung-shu.” Hehas also published articles, such as “A New Mission for Design Education,” “Form Follows Action,” and “Organic Geometry——A Rationale to Create a Form”. He has completed t6 pieces of public art work either through competition or invitation in the U.S. and has had many solo exhibitions of his oil Daintinqs.
