簡歷 & 研究組工作摘要(biography & Introduction): Dr. Fu was born in 1958, and earned his doctor’s degree in University of Miami in 1990. He was a post-doctoral fellowship in National Jewish Center for Immunology and Respiratory Medicine in 1991~1993. He received NIH Clinical Investigator Award and Howard Hughes Medical Institute Fellowship for Physician Scientist. Now he is Professor of Department of Pathology and Immunology in University of Chicago. He is also an adjunct professor at Chinese Academy of Sciences. The basic research in his laboratory is focused on understanding the biological consequences arising from the interaction between core molecules of the TNF superfamily, lymphotoxin (LT or TNFSF1) and LIGHT (TNFSF14), on lymphocytes, and their receptor, LTßR, on stromal cells. His recent studies have defined the roles of these molecules in autoimmunity and tumor immunity in mouse models and human patients. These research includes four major themes: critical role for lymphotoxin in the development and function of lymphoid tissues, role of lymphotoxin in the remodeling or REGENERATION of non-lymphoid tissues, the role of lymphotoxin receptor in central and peripheral tolerance, therapies based on the regulation of lymphotoxin or LIGHT signaling.
