丹揚

丹揚，博士。美國加州大學伯克利分校神經生物學系教授。HHMI研究員。北京大學本科畢業後於美國哥倫比亞大學取得博士學位，畢業後在美國洛克菲勒大學進行博士後研究。主要從事神經及腦科學研究。

研究方向

Studyofcorticalcircuitsanddynamicsinslice.Patch-clamprecordingexperimentsareperformedinvisualcorticalslicestostudytheinteractionbetweendifferentpathways feedforward,recurrent,andfeedback ininformationprocessingandactivity-dependentplasticity.Two-photonCa2+imagingallowsustostudyprocessingatthedendriticlevel.
Characterizationofneuralcircuitsunderlyingreceptivefieldpropertiesinvivo.Inadditiontoextracellularrecordings,whole-cell(intracellular)recordingsaremadeinthevisualcortexinvivotomonitorexcitatoryandinhibitorysynapticinputsintocorticalneuronsduringvisualstimulationandtomanipulatethepostsynapticmembranepotential.Linearandnonlinearcomputationaltechniquesareusedtoanalyzetheresponsestocomplexstimuli(e.g.,whitenoise,naturalscenes)tounderstandthecorticalcircuitryunderlyingvariousresponsepropertiesofvisualneurons,theeffectsofneuromodulatoryinputs,andthemechanismsunderlyingexperience-dependentreceptivefieldplasticity.
Studyingensemblecodingwithmultielectroderecordingandimaging.Activityofmultipleneuronswillbemeasuredsimultaneouslywithmultielectroderecording,two-photonimaging,orvoltage-sensitivedyeimaging.Theseexperimentswillallowustocharacterizethespatiotemporalpatternsofensembleneuralactivityandtheirrolesinvisualcoding.
Exploringtheneuralcorrelateofperceptioninawakeanimals.Inadditiontohumanpsychophysicsexperiments,wehaveestablishedarodentbehavioralparadigmforstudyingvisualperception.Multielectroderecordingarealsomadeinawakerodentstounderstandtheneuralactivitypatternsunderlyingperception.
