劇情介紹
拉斯(瑞恩·高斯林飾)是一個性格憨厚，寡言少語的人。過於內向的性格讓拉斯幾乎沒有什麼朋友，平時他也只和家人來往，幾年來都沒有人上門拜訪過他。其實在內心中拉斯也渴望著與別人溝通，只是常年的孤單生活已經讓他忘了怎么樣去與人交流，周圍的人也慢慢習慣了他的沉默。不過突然有一天拉斯跑到哥哥格斯家說有個在網上認識的叫比安卡的女孩來家裡拜訪他了。又驚又喜的格斯夫婦倆隨拉斯去家裡一起派對，可一進門的看到的東西讓格斯二人呆了半晌——原來所謂的來訪網友是拉斯從網上訂購的一個真人大小的充氣娃娃。但拉斯卻跟她說話、講笑話，好像這個充氣娃娃真的是真人比安卡一樣。
格斯離開拉斯家後馬上就弟弟的狀況去諮詢了家庭醫生達格瑪。達格瑪聽過之後認為這是拉斯主觀上創造的一種錯覺，錯覺產生的原因還有待調查，但是為避免情況惡化所有人都得先順著弟弟的意來，假戲真做。於是，為了拯救拉斯，身邊的人開始積極配合著醫生的囑咐，與拉斯和比安卡一起踏上了一段另類的心靈之旅。
