By reading this composition, I find my vocabulary is not enough. That's the first problem which I [am]faced with. Many words made me stopped, and then asked help of dictionary[I look them up by dictionary]. The second one is the understanding of[to understand] the meaning of the long sentences, which both[去掉both] have difficult grammar. This problem happened to me for many years; however, I still have no way to deal with it completely. Most people agreed that reading loudly、slowly and correctly is a good approach to improve English. But we often forget that we, especially Chinese are too introvert to speak. I am a typical example. We will succeed although there’s a long way for us to learn English very well.
One of the specialties, in this composition, is the using of old sayings. There’re Cicero’s, Sartre’s, Beecher’s and so on. That’s my first time to know them and their masters. I can’t get the meaning they implied. So I have to resort to my classmates or look [them]up [by]the reference books. From this finding, I think I should spend more time on reading. Through this way, I can understand more things which are full of philosophy and use them into my life adequately.
Of course, in this composition, I learned some different and special opinions about well—being. As to[for] me, I view happiness as fit health, delicious food, comfortable family, free life. However, many times, we have no sense about it, and then neglect it. For instance, we can walk but we don’t know the disabled; we can say but we don’t know the mute. Those are all well—being to some extent. Everyday we should keep a happy and relaxed mood, not only for ourselves but also for the people around us.
