they dont care about usthey dont care about us講的是種族問題，這首歌有較快的節奏，還有豪放的曲風，哪怕是第一次聽給人以很深的印象。禁播版MV是在監獄中拍攝的，現在的MV是很多人在那裡敲鼓，這首歌無論是歌詞意境，旋律，MV都算的上是經典中的經典。
創作背景
這首歌是在洛杉磯大爆動的背景下拍攝的。十九年前的五月，是一個黑暗的日子……洛杉磯大暴動就發生在那個時刻。
暴動的起因是在1992年3月3日，
當時，一名黑人青年因為超速駕駛，被4名白人交警攔下。
白人交警攔下車以後發現車內是一名黑人駕駛員羅德尼.金，立刻將他拉下車來。
羅德尼.金員遭到4名白人警察的痛毆，這個鏡頭被一名有正義感的路人拍下，就是《They don't care about us》里4名白人毆打一名黑人的鏡頭
此舉引起當地一片譁然，民眾紛紛要求相關單位嚴懲這幾個打人兇手。
但是4名白人警察請了最好的律師來為自己辯護，而羅德尼.金沒有錢請不起律師
這4名白人警察的律師要求法院在洛杉磯的郊區進行審判
因為在美國法院判決的人不是法官而是陪審團，陪審團是在法庭所在地找來的。
而美國的白人大都住在郊區，市區中心住的反而是黑人居多。
所以陪審團就變成了12名白人，他們看過錄像後仍然一致作出判決：這4名警察無罪釋放
立刻引起洛杉磯非洲裔居民的強烈不滿，並在1992年4月29日在洛杉磯市中心舉行示威，旋即演變成一場無法收拾的暴動
最後在輿論的強大壓力下，施暴的4名警察才被開除，被毆打的黑人青年也獲得了380萬美元的賠償金。
洛杉磯大暴動共造成55人死亡，2300人受傷，12000人被捕，此外還有1100多座建築物被燒毀
多間商店遭搶。持續4天的暴動，給這座全美第二大城市帶來10億美元的經濟損失。
而邁的《They don't care about us 》就是在這個大背景下創作出來的。
因為MV中間加入了四名警察毆打羅德尼.金的鏡頭，因而被禁播
這個訊息不知道是不是所有的邁迷都了解，但是我今天看到了視頻我覺得有責任讓不知道的人都知道
其實美國很黑暗……白人很黑暗……
他們的膚色也許是白的，但是他們中的很多人擁有的是惡魔一樣的心靈……
（增加注釋：警察毆打羅德尼金一案，實質上是由媒體炒作出來的。實際情況是：羅德尼金酒後駕車，被攔截後，拒捕襲警。媒體特意剪輯了錄像片段，只播放警察用暴力制服羅德尼金的畫面，去除了之前羅德尼金毆打警察的畫面，特意渲染種族主義情緒。當時在場的警察中既有白人也有黑人，對羅德尼金的態度是一致的。騷亂事件發生後不久，羅德尼金再次酒後駕車被捕，人們才意識到此人屢教不改。這次就沒人再為其申張“正義”了。不過次事引起了美國的族群分裂。）
