I think I have tp say " sorry" to the author after I read the paragraph 7 and 8.
I have not read through the whole passage, but I said something critical to the author. Now I think the author had thought of problem completely.
In paragraph 7, the author used a word "immune". He wanted to tell us that everyone will show off sometimes. "Immune" means someone can't be affected by special kind of disease. This is the meaning in medication. The author maybe want to tell us that showing off is a kind of disease which is popular among human-beings.
The author said that showoffs may be forgivable and acceptable. I think showing off is something we don't have to do. If we do it, we should be careful that we haven't hurt others. If what we DiD does no harm to others, showing off is acceptable.
In theother side, showing off is unacceptable if it is offensive. Sometimes it can be illegal. And the one who is showing off offensively isfoolish.
