Sean Kingston出生在牙買加首都金斯敦（Kingston）6歲開始在邁阿密長大。儘管他的祖父是牙買加傳奇音樂製作人Jack Ruby，Sean還是一度淪落到母親和姐姐雙雙入獄的時候，無家可歸只能窩在破車裡。而Sean優秀的音樂天賦並沒有因為生活的艱辛而被埋沒，憑藉出色掌控節奏和旋律的才能，Sean Kingston在十幾歲的年紀就混跡邁阿密的演出圈，參加各種才藝比賽，曾經和Ludacris，Pitbull這樣的大牌同台演出。
