1969年，在《Let It Be》發行之前，這張偉大的專輯以《Get Back》的名字少量發行，當時只有很少一部分幸運的歌迷買到了這個最原始的版本。而後，Beatles內部的矛盾愈演愈烈，最終不得不以解散告終，這張專輯便用Let It Be為名正式發行，成為Beatles發行時間上最晚的一張，曲目與《Get Back》相比有所刪減，順序亦有所變動。也就是說，《Get Back》才是Beatles真正想要做的專輯。《Let It Be》僅僅是矛盾激化後過氣的產物，儘管它還是那么優秀。所以後來的歌迷千方百計地收購1969年發現的《Get Back》，而在1990年Apple公司重新發行了這張專輯並對一些曲目進行了數字修復。另外增加了幾首未曾發行的歌。
