Burglars who raided two houses in Northampton stealing replica handguns and an air rifle are being hunted by police.
Detectives are linking a burglary and an attempted burglary, which both took place between 1.30pm and 2.15pm on Monday.
During the first incident, which happened at a home in Kingsland Avenue, an unknown person forced the rear patio doors open with an unknown implement. They then conducted an untidy search and stole cash, replica/imitation handguns and an airgun.
One of the replica guns was a Desert Eagle replica and the book printing word Webley was stamped on the side. It was black with a wooden panel on the handle.
The second replica was a black Glock replica handgun, which was taken in its black plastic box with no markings.

Police believe the last weapon was a Walther competition airgun which had a silver body. A tin of target pellets was also stolen. It was cheap coach purses in a royal blue box with an orange sticker marked Brocock.
During the same time period there was an attempted burglary at a home in Nursery Lane. On this occasion an unknown offender bent back a metal gate which was placed over the top of the back door on the property.

An unknown offender was spotted running away from the property in the direction of Kingsland Avenue. He was a white man, aged in his mid 20s, 5ft 7ins tall, of slim build. He had dirty blond hair which was slightly curly, freckles and wore a high visibility jacket.
