1987年7月畢業於河北大學生物學系,獲得學士學位,同年分配到中國科學院石家莊農業現代化所(現在的農業資源研究中心)工作至今。曾經在澳大利亞CSIRO、西澳大學和日本國立環境研究所訪問。
