站點概況
SACOL是國內第一個在高校建立的研究型氣候觀測平台,承擔國家973項目“北方乾旱與人類適應”第一課題、國家自然科學基金重點項目、國家自然科學基金面上項目、海外或港澳青年學者合作研究基金等多項科研項目。研究涵蓋氣候、生態、水文、遙感和社會學等領域,在氣候變化、土地利用、水資源利用、工業及城市污染、區域能量和水分循環及沙塵暴等方面開展研究,為我國西北乾旱化趨勢預測、評估和對策研究提供觀測依據,同時也為“有序人類”活動的開展及生態效益評估提供實驗平台。SACOL已被批准加入了CEOP項目、AERONET(Aerosol Robotic Network)和MPLNET(Micro-Pulse Lidar Network)等國際觀測網 。
全世界共有32個此類觀測點,分別位於不同的國家和地區,蘭州大學氣候觀測點是國內第一個在高校建立的氣候觀測點。在此之前國內已經建成兩個此類氣候觀測平台,同時本站是繼中國科學院吉林通榆站之後,第二個由我國自主建設的長期觀測站。本站已被批准加入國際CEOP項目,並作為參加此項計畫的全球協同加強觀測站之一。
本站獲取的觀測資料可以用來驗證和改進氣候和天氣預報模式中半乾旱地區陸面過程、輻射過程的參數化方案,對於研究區域能量和水分循環、預測我國西北乾旱化等自然災害有重要作用。同時,觀測資料也可用於研究土地利用、水資源利用、工業及城市污染對區域能量和水分循環的影響,為西北乾旱化趨勢進行預測,為乾旱化評估和對策研究提供第一手的科學觀測依據,也為人類活動與乾旱區生態效應的關聯提供評估。
