《英語作為第二語言的課堂教學:從幼稚園到高三》是一部介紹將英語作為第二語言進行課堂教學的著作,作者Helene Becker獲ESL,教學碩士學位,擁有多年教授西班牙語和英語的經驗。英文原書共229頁,分為9章,是作者多年從事語言教學實踐和研究語言教學的成果。內容涉及到中國小ESL,教師在日常教學中遇到的問題和所要做出的決定。
E1se Hamayan在書中不時出現,為Helene評述。E1se曾在黎巴嫩教外語(即英語),自己也在學習英語。她作評論有兩個目的:一是考慮Helene的教育決策和教學技巧的理論基礎;二是提供ESL。教學更廣闊的社會和政治環境。E1se認為教師應當考慮到以下幾個問題:
1. 學生如何有效地利用第二語言獲得新概念?
