內容簡介

The earthquake, measuring 8.0 on the Richter scale, which hit Southwest China on 12 May 2008, was a devastating event that killed about 70,000 people and left some 18,000 missing. More than 15 million people lived in the affected area of Sichuan province, including close to 4 million in the city of Chengdu.
The response by the Chinese government was swift, comprehensive and effective. UNEP, along with other United Nations agencies, also provided support to the government in order to bring assistance to these shattered but resilient communities as they rebuilt their lives, livelihoods and infrastructure.
