Graham Alexander was born in Coventry on 10 October, 1971.
Graham, who qualified to play for Scotland through his Scots-born father, was a latecomer to the international scene after a career spent mostly in the lower divisions. His first club was Scunthorpe United from 1989 to 1995 then he spent four seasons at Luton Town before joining Preston North End in the spring of 1999.
His first full season with the club coincided with them winning the Second Div
