《新世紀美術英語閱讀教程(下)》是根據新世紀我國大學英語教學的新要求，為美術與設計專業的學生度身編寫的教材，旨在幫助學生掃清閱讀專業英語書刊時遇到的語言障礙，並培養學生的英語交際能力、本教材由全國九所美術學院熟悉美術知識的資深英語教師通力合作編寫而成，主要特點如下：
閱讀材料大部分選自國外當代專業英文書刊，語言地道，圖文並茂，背景知識翔實，兼具實用性、知識性和趣味性。
注重通過辭彙操練與句型解析培養學生的閱讀技巧，以及快速檢索和獲取信息的能力。
教程分上、下兩冊，每冊八個單元，每個單元包括四個部分：閱讀技巧指導與訓練、閱讀實踐、實用閱讀和專業術語拓展，教師可以根據實際情況靈活安排教學。
