主要貢獻
自97年創建並領導電磁功能複合材料研究組以來,先後負責或領導研究組承擔並完成了一批國家級科研項目,包括2項國家自然科學基金面上項目、1項國家自然科學基金重點項目、4項國家863項目、 2項重點型號材料配套項目、2項國防基礎科研項目、3項總裝預研基金項目和1項國防科工委專項計畫生產能力建設項目等20多項科研項目。研製的 多項成果分別通過了教育部、船總和航天科工集團的項目成果鑑定和產品鑑定,認定“綜合技術水平居國內領先,達到了國際先進水平”,並被納入國軍標,而且實現了產業化和在國家重要軍工型號武器裝備等上的規模化工程套用,為我國國防和經濟建設做出了重要貢獻。在 Chem Commun、 Chem Mater、 J Mater Chem、 Langmuir、 Appl Phys Lett、 Biosens & Bioelectron和 Polymer等SCI、EI收錄期刊上發表論文100餘篇、被SCI引用400多篇次,其中 在影響因子 2.0以上的學術期刊上發表論文30餘篇,在影響因子3.0以上的期刊論文20篇,發表論文的期刊最高影響因子為8.25,單篇論文他引的最高次數為61次;申請國家、國防發明專利24項,其中 已獲得授權國家、國防發明專利 12項;指導培養博士、碩士研究生70餘名。同時,創建了一支包括1名“新世紀百千萬人才工程”國家級人選、2名“楚天學者”特聘教授、6名副教授、博士等在內的約50名科研人員的創新研究團隊;建立了一個擁有近2000萬元的先進科研儀器設備和 1000餘平米實驗室面積的研發基地,成為了我國電磁波隱身與禁止複合材料基礎研究和工程套用開發研究(被批准成立了 超硬與電磁功能複合材料廣東省工程開發技術研究中心)的一支重要力量。

2007年被評為“新世紀百千萬人才工程”國家級人選,並獲 “湖北青年五四獎章”、第8屆“湖北省十大傑出青年”提名獎、省“高技術武器裝備發展建設工程有功個人”稱號。曾獲湖北省技術發明一等獎、湖北省自然科學二等獎、教育部提名國家自然科學一等獎、國防技術發明三等獎和國家優秀科技圖書三等獎等多項學術獎勵。
