無敵暑期片《天煞--地球反擊戰》不但特技了得，劇情緊湊，還證明了兩點：一、科幻片依然是暑假首選，在芸芸猛片中鶴立雞群。二、科幻片種的基本故事結構已經根深蒂固，完全公
宇宙奇趣錄式化。其創意就不及1981年的暑期片王《宇宙神怪錄》 。《宇》是集合電影、漫畫及音樂三種媒體藝術精華的“壞孩子"，片中八段短篇全部以暴力、性愛為骨幹，挖苦人性醜惡之餘，不忘宣揚法西斯獨裁主義，正因其瘋狂豐富的想像力及驚人夢幻幕後組合，令這部腐敗的卡通被譽為科幻片的里程碑，超凡脫俗的cultfilm簡直是天使與魔鬼的混合體。漫畫版源自法國，美國版一出版便影響全球漫畫界，連大友克洋也坦言《宇》片給了《亞基拉》不少靈感，配樂方面由大師Berstein一手包辦，插曲由多隊搖滾勁旅度身訂造，Journey的經典rockballad(OpenArms)亦是出自本片，製作人說，影碟等十五年才推出，其中原因是斟妥各歌曲的著作權費也需時多年，由此可見其商業價值之高，來吧！現在是時候齊來抱末世紀的心情陶醉於那80年代的墮落荒淫世界，欣賞當代藝術的巔峰結合。

黑色另類但難稱經典
是看過它的後續作品Heavymetal2000以後，因感覺不錯才想到見識一下這部原作。想像一下80年代的動畫水平，片子的動畫製作還是不錯的，但是故事架構相當的鬆散，能聯繫起幾個故事之間的就是一個充滿邪惡力量的能量塊。感覺導演完全沉浸在自己天馬行空的想像之中，忘記了觀眾，雖然其關於未來的黑色想像和對性與邪惡人性的大膽渲染無疑具有開創性，但只能和其他一些過於以導演為中心的藝術動畫一樣喪失對觀眾的影響力。
