The “whole” here means the whole company. “fits into” in “fits into the corporate strategy” is worth us to think（改worth to us thinking）. “Fit into sth(改…).” has two meaning. One（For one thing） is to be part of a situation, system, or plan. The other one （改For another）is to be part of a group of people or things. And（+the meaning of phrase） “fits into” in this sentence is the first meaning(改one). In the next sentence, “others” in “affects others” means other workers’ work and “make an impact” here means something we leave behind us. This paragraph tells us, if companies hope the workers to contribute their knowledge enthusiastically, they need（改should pay regard to） value the individuals.
“A direct relationship between job performance and reward makes work more meaningful.” In（去掉）the first sentence(這短語移到第2段最前面)of paragraph 5, offers us a method of making（改this method can make） work more meaningful. That’s developing a direct relationship between job performance and reward. The clearly reward or punish policy encourage the workers to work harder. “Turnover” in the next sentence means the rate at which workers are replaced, especially in a given period. “in the 4th sentence, the word “push” means the pressure of circumstances, activities, etc. and the word “employment” here means a kind of work which with less pressure. On the last sentence, I want to say sth. About “perform to the best of their potential” means as far as one can. However, the author uses “try” to instead of “perform”. It appears to me that perform could express the author’s feeling more exactly.
