This is an objective realistic essay. The author talks about the cheating in the American university. The article illustrates that cheating is a big problem and hard to solve, and the author of the essay thinks that cheating is of a habit that takes root in elementary school, bud in high school, and flower in college. However the children’s problem is influenced by their parents in a great extent. This section from paragraph 1 to 8, it is very long, so no easy job to render every my problem, whereas I enumerate one the issue. In paragraph 7, it said “is that it is often the most gifted students, the ones who presumably could get good grades without cheating, who are the worst offenders”. I can’t comprehend this sentence, and why those kind students are the worst offenders.
When in our childhood, parents always tech us that do an honest child. But with the age growth, we find the world is not honesty. If people are too frank, may be betrayed by friends. So cheat has become an essential behavior. Some poor students don’t study hard but still reach a high score by cheating, and then others think that it is not equal, they follow the example of the cheater. Gradually, it will become vicious circle.
In china, cheating also is a big problem. It is never lack cheaters around us; we not only influence by these students and colleagues, but, most importantly, hinging on your own attitude. We can not control others thinking, whereas we can control own behavior.
As we know, cheating is very serious in the university. Students should know that cheating will only bring them punishment, for example, lose the opportunity to continue their studies. If only depend on cheating without studying, we can not learn anything from school. When we graduate, finding the fact that no skill and no knowledge in brain. Finally, cheater recognizes that they waste the best time in their life. I always believe that no sweet without sweat, we can not get without any labor.
To put all into one nutshell, both cheater and will be cheater should awaken to the potential danger of cheating. We cannot afford to neglect its hider threats. Students should be enhancing their self—confidence. When they have enough confidence, there will be not necessary to cheat on exams. And in exam rooms, more teachers are needed to supervise the student. University should formulate relevant regulation to crack down on those who cheat in exam.
