網上有一首描寫媽媽愛嘮叨的歌曲很紅，創作這首《媽媽之歌》的是美國喜劇女演員安妮塔·蘭弗洛，她是3位孩子的母親，為了照顧小傢伙們的起居，她和天底下很多媽媽一樣，整天嘮叨不停。一個偶然的機會，安妮塔靈光閃現，“為何不把嘮叨譜成一首歌呢？這樣一定很有趣。”於是她將自己每天常絮叨的話寫成簡短的歌詞，配著義大利作曲家羅西尼的《威廉泰爾序曲》唱了出來……當這首《媽媽之歌》被放到網上後，引起了強烈反響，很多網友表示，這首歌寫得“太真實”了，也十分有趣。
《媽媽之歌》的歌詞是：“起床！起床！快起來！去洗臉！去刷牙！記得梳頭！這是你的衣服，你的鞋子，你有沒有在聽我說話啊？別忘了疊被子……”天！多么可怕的喋喋不休的一個媽媽！這首歌一出場，滿堂笑聲，可見這是大家公認的媽媽的形象。
據說歌詞除了英文版、中文版，還被翻譯成西班牙語等各種語言，甚至還有手語版。又聽說之後歌曲作者又開始冥思苦想，還特地找來了一群“爸爸”共同討論，把父親常掛在嘴邊教育孩子的話記錄下來，創作一首《爸爸之歌》。
