創作背景
宣傳片截圖2013年1月初，賈斯汀在推特上稱“I think I'M READY” 。之後他在Youtube放出了段不足一分鐘的視頻，這一段視頻中，賈斯汀說，他不想把他不喜歡的音樂拿出來給人聽，向歌迷解釋了為什麼七年內沒有專注於音樂上的獨唱事業。隨後，賈斯汀的官方網站放出新歌發布倒計時。14日，《Suit & Tie》被宣布將被發行。15日，這首歌曲正式被發布 。
《Suit & Tie》由賈斯汀·汀布萊克、Jay-Z、提姆巴蘭、J-Roc和詹姆斯·方特勒羅伊創作。歌曲的錄製於2012年6月在洛杉磯北好萊塢的Larrabee工作室完成。歌曲的主要靈感來源來自於賈斯汀從小聽到的那些音樂，和一些後來聽的元素。當時，他只是走進錄音室很隨意地寫一寫彈一彈，並沒指望可以創作出什麼 。
賈斯汀在完成主歌之後，準備去錄製時，Jay-Z正坐在房間裡對著賈斯汀工作。然後，Jay-Z想出了他的部分，他突然沖凳子上跳了起來，說：“Uh oh! Get out of that seat, Hov.”。賈斯汀只是覺得很有趣，然後將這句話加入了歌曲中 。
歌曲對樂隊Sly，Slick and Wicked的歌曲《Sho Nuff》進行了採樣 。
