James Follett trained to be a marine engineer, and also spent some time hunting for underwater treasure, filming sharks, designing powerboats, and writing technical material for the Ministry of Defence before becoming a full-time writer. He is the author of numerous radio plays and television dramas, as well as fifteen novels including The Tiptoe Boys, Churchill's Gold, Swift and Trojan. He lives in Surrey.
