In the seventh paragraph, the author said no one were completely immune. I Do not know what does immune mean, so I look up the dictionary to find the answer. I think the author is right, no body in the world is sage, everyone has shortcoming. And the author used three sentences leaded by "that", to explain we taught that we should not do, but not everyone can accomplish. So sometimes we will show off more or less.
The author said that sometimes showing off were acceptable. Why? I have no idea. Maybe it was not so deeply. And it did not harm benefit of others.
In the eighth paragraph, the author described some showing were not acceptable. The competitions make people showing off, because the people wanted to show that they were better than others. So those people couldn't be acceptable. The people who did anything to be the center of attention, maybe he will do something bad to others, because they were individualism. So they were unacceptable too.
