The Middle Autumn Day
The Middle Autumn day is considered as a symbol of family reunion.
Today, we all go to my grandparents’ home to celebrate this festival. We haven’t seen each other for a long time. My parents are always busy with work, my uncle, auntie often do business trade in other city. My little sister has a heavy study in senior school and I major in Business Administration in university, my grandparents often stay alone. So today we have an overwhelming desire to reunion together.
My grandmother prefers to go shopping with my mother in afternoon while my grandfather is more likely to play Mahjong with my father and uncle.
My sister and I go to the Jade Work Resort---which is located under JiuLong Mountain in DaYin Town NingBo city. It is a famous place for attractions, for Instance, West Monastery for Buddhism, Jade Buddhist Pagoda, the Southern Temple of Heaven, all of which have had more than
thousands of years of Buddhist civilization histories.
Many elder people burn incense and candles as well as ingots made of tinfoil in order to hope the family members health and safe---of course, it is an old tradition custom and the reasons are not far to seek. And we take a lot of photos because of green hills, graceful water and beautiful jade.
At evening, our whole family ---parents, children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren---sit together to partake of the rich dinner. A scene of joy, isn’t it? By the way, I also send messages or give a ring to some good friends and teachers to express my regards to them.
Then we eat moon cakes and watch TV show, hearing from the news, it is said the moon of today is the biggest during the 100 years.
Nowadays, as we known, there are many kinds of moon cakes, so my grandfather asks us to take every taste. But honestly I don’t want to be a fat girl as its high caloric. My father tells me the moon cake can make the people who can’t stay with their family and see moon limit the homesick, so no matter who will eat moon cakes in the Middle Autumn day.
Maybe, my middle autumn day is ordinary, just like yours. But, I enjoy great happiness with my family.
