概念
從語言的社會功能變體來講,經貿英語是在跨文化國際經貿領域中,主要由生產商、代理商、消費者、投資者等使用的,以進行和完成相關經貿交際活動為目的,在辭彙、句法、篇章上具有特定表現形式、表達程式、言語規範及言語規律的,相對穩定的一種功能變體。作為特殊用途英語(English for SpecifiPurposes,ESP),經貿英語(Business English)與其國際經貿交際環境、言語生產者、言語接受者、語體學、語用學、篇章語言學等有密不可分的聯繫。經貿英語正是在這些聯繫的基礎上顯示出其獨特的語體特徵。
