基本介紹
《柳園裡》，是葉芝早年的詩作。他的早年詩歌韻律優美，感情細膩，辭藻華麗，象徵意味濃郁，明顯受到英國浪漫主義和法國象徵主義詩歌的影響。 這首詩象民歌那樣語言質樸，可詠性強。其次，這首詩在時態的運用上也有獨特之處。全詩除了最後半行用現在時以外都是用過去時態。這說明過去對人們的現在具有十分重要的意義。在詩的最後，詩人用一般現在時是意味深長的。雖然對現在情況的描述只有五個詞便戛然而止，但是，由於詩人把這幾個詞放在全詩最突出的位置，所以給人以意猶未盡的感覺，讀者可以通過這幾個詞來感受“我”的廣闊的心靈世界。

Down by the salley gardens my love and I did meet;

She passed the salley gardens with little snow-white feet.

She bid me take love easy, as the leaves grow on the tree;
她囑我愛得簡單，如枝上萌發的新綠。
But I, being young and foolish,with her did not agree.
但當年年少無知，不願接受她的心語。
In a field by the river my love and I did stand,
在遠方河畔曠野，吾愛與我並肩佇立。
And on my leaning shoulder she laid her snow-white hand.
在我微傾的肩上，她搭起純白的手臂。
She bid me take life easy, as the grass grows on the weirs;
她囑我活得淡然，像青草滋長於岸堤。
But I was young and foolish, and now I am full of tears.
但當年年少無知，如今早已淚滿衣裳 。
