二、內容簡介
該片講述了Alan Rickman飾演的一位沒有透露姓名的圖書編輯,在與Emma Thompson飾演的前妻分手15年後,兩人再度回到他們過去頻繁出入的Zanzotti餐廳敘舊的故事。女人嫁給了一位世界知名的作家,在巴黎過著絢麗多姿的生活。她依然光鮮亮麗,充滿活力,對世界、對生活、對周圍的人事物都充滿了興趣。而男人則陷入了低迷憂鬱的中年,他的寫作事業一事無成,對出版工作喪失熱情,悔恨愛戀的終結,到了人生的低潮。當他邁入餐廳的時候,發現餐廳在新的管理下,很多地方都已經改變了。而這似乎激化了他對自己年華逝去和被拋棄淘汰的忿恨。這對老情人坐在餐桌旁緬懷過去,此時的基調是感性和喜樂參半的重聚。然而,隨著紅酒入喉,當他們聊起失敗的感情後,敘舊變成了相互責罵。最後,他借著酒意選擇逃避,甚至對為他們服務的服務員小姐產生了一絲冒昧之意想像著自己對那位服務員求婚,只為平息內心的不平衡,可是只是心裡的想像。他醉著來到餐廳的屋頂,眼前浮現了他和她曾經幸福的過往,待他酒醒才發現自己在這個樓頂已經呆了太久,這才急急忙忙衝下樓去尋她,只可惜人走茶涼,她已經離開,只是吩咐好服務員把他的包遞給了他。他才意識到,兩人再也回不去了,正準備離開餐廳的他,不經意間看見了餐廳里除了他以外僅剩下的另一位客人,一位似曾相識的老頭,坐在餐廳的角落裡悶悶喝酒,突然他想起了那個老人中年時期的樣子······他是······
