這張專輯講述了一個故事：
Doolin-Dalton是十九世紀末美國大西部真正的不法之徒，由William Doolin（Bill Doolin）、Dalton兄弟和George Newcomb等人組成的盜匪，當時稱之為The Dalton Gang（道爾頓幫）。Doolin（Bill Doolin）由於名氣太大，以及性格過於瘋狂難以集體行動，所以並沒有加入The Dalton Gang。在一次搶劫中，這個團伙失去了三位兄弟，還有三人生還在1891年開始追隨起Doolin。後者在1896年被捕，並被判50年監禁，後在越獄後，於岳父的農場被擊斃。
“老鷹”樂隊的《Doolin-Dalton》，就是以這個歷史事件為背景，所創作的一首歌曲。倒不是說他們希望通過這首作品，為這群殺人如麻的悍匪立碑樹傳。而是希望通過這樣一首歌曲，重現出一個率真、江湖的特殊時代。而他們更通過這個故事的主題，延伸出《Desperado》這張經典的專輯概念，其封面的叛逆英雄造型，同樣來自於The Dalton Gang“賦予”他們的靈感。
