本書根據作者在美國近20年來英語語法的教與學所積累的實踐經驗,並按照中國英語語法教與學的國情需求編寫而成。全書共由下列七大部分組成: 一、引言部分(語法規則); 二、英語的淵源與發展及其影響; 三、掌握控制英語各類辭彙層面上的錯誤; 四、掌握控制英語句子結構層面上的錯誤; 五、掌握控制英語不一致基礎方面的錯誤; 六、掌握控制英語各類標點符號錯誤; 七,診斷性測試和綜合測試(內容與上述六大部分相呼應)。此外,每部分還配有相當數量的練習供參閱與訓練。
本書自始至終用生動有趣的語言,以精簡明了的表述手法,全面系統地闡述了整個英語語法體系,可謂是當今國內眾多英語語法書中難得覓見的案頭必備之書。
作者介紹
趙岩博士畢業於中國河北大學英文系。80年代中期去美國普渡大學讀英語語言學,1987年獲英語語言學碩士學位。1994年獲英文博士學位。趙博士學位的第二主讀科目是18世紀英國文學,第三主讀科目是幽默語意和實用分析及研究。
自1990年起,趙博士一直在美國加州承擔大學類語及寫作等課程的教學,積累了豐富的實踐經驗。目前已是美國加州艾爾卡米諾學院(EI College)終身教授。
在執教的同肘,趙博士熱衷於編寫大學英語教材。除本書外,她還編著了: A College Reader and Rhetoric ;A Gude and Reader for Critical Thinking; Star Student Essop: A Motivating Reader;均由美國國會圖書館註冊。
趙岩博士現與她的丈夫趙和平博士及他們的兒子喬治(George)和女兒艾米(Amy)住在美國加州的花園城(Garde Grove)。
