簡歷：
1968年11月出生，博士，中國科學院水生生物研究所研究員，博士生導師，中國水產學會水產生物技術專業委員會委員，《農業生物技術學報》和《遺傳》編委。1991年畢業於南開大學生物系，獲理學學士學位；2002年獲中科院研究生院博士學位。主要從事魚類生殖發育調控、魚類基因工程育種、克隆胚胎再程式化機制等研究。主持國家自然科學基金重點項目、863項目、973課題及湖北省傑出青年人才基金等多項研究。以第一作者和通訊作者身份在Biology of Reproduction，PLoS One，General and Comparative Endocrinology，Marine biotechnology，Aquaculture以及《中國科學》等國內外刊物上發表論文30餘篇，以第一發明人身份獲美國發明專利1項，獲中國發明專利2項

魚類基因工程學科組的研究工作發端於上世紀70年代末的魚類細胞核移植試驗：朱作言先生在著名實驗胚胎學家童第周先生的領導下，通過合作研究完成鯉鯽間的細胞核移植，首次實現脊椎動物的種間克隆。上世紀80年代，朱作言先生領導開創魚類基因轉移研究新領域，研製世界首批快速生長的轉基因魚。以上成果作為近代中國科技領域的兩大重要科研成就被載入《世界科學年史》（A. Hellemans & B. Bunch, 美國Simon & Schuster出版社）。
