英語諺語
文化典籍流傳於民間口語中的諺語,伴隨著文字的產生,開始出現在各種文學作品和文化典籍中。英語諺語有一部分來自書面文獻,主要出自 希臘羅馬神話、 寓言故事、 莎士比亞戲劇以及一些名家作品中。這些源自文化典籍的“ 雅諺”,有些是在民間口語說法的基礎上提煉打磨而成,而有些則屬獨創,有著鮮明的文化色彩、語體特色和教育警策作用。
英語諺語以其令人們熟知的形象和比喻體現了人們世代積累的經驗和形成的價值觀,它們作為社會共享的口頭文學的袖珍版本,被成百上千次地引用,成為說服他人的論據,並用以指導日常生活。
主要內容
諺語是民間集體創造、廣為口傳、言簡意賅並較為定型的藝術語句,是民眾豐富智慧和普遍經驗的規律性總結。根據內容,可以分為三類:
(1)氣象諺語。氣象諺語是認識自然和總結生產經驗的諺語,如“長蟲過道,大雨要到”、“東北有三寶:人參、貂皮、烏拉草”等。
(2)農業諺語。農業諺語是農民在生產實踐中總結出來的農事經驗,如“棗芽發,種棉花”、“今冬麥蓋三層被,來年枕著饅頭睡”等。
(3)生活諺語。生活諺語是人們根據衛生保健知識概括而成的諺語,如“寒從腳起,病從口入”、“早晨起得早,八十不覺老”等。
(4)社會諺語 。社會諺語泛指為人處世、接物待人、持家治國等方面應注意的事,如:“量小非君子,無毒不丈夫”、“人不可貌相,海水不可斗量”、“若要人不知,除非己莫為”等。
